Nadeau: Play of the Day Sat 3.4.23
| “PLAY of the DAY” by Brian Nadeau | |
| Date: | 3/4/2023 |
| Featured Track/Race: | Gulfstream Park – Race 12 |
| Race overview: | An extremely strong renewal of the G2 Davona Dale, which stretches out the 3yo fillies to a one-turn mile. |
| Pace: | Oddly enough, for a 12-horse field full of talent and several who stretch out, there’s not a ton of sprint speed, which means you better be close early because it won’t be easy to pass late. |
| Trends: | You want to be close on the main regardless of the trip, but if a pace develops, you can close at this distance. |
| Best Play: | #5 UNDERVALUED ASSET (3-1): Lightly-raced filly was tossed into the deep end of the pool in the local G3 Forward Gal but gave the favorite (#3 Red Carpet Ready 2-1) a scare off the turn before being repelled, but she should only move forward off that, draws outside her main rival, and should love the added furlong too. |
| Bet Types: | Aggressive WP bet and single in the late Pk5/Pk4 as well. |
| Meet/POD Stats: | GP Champ. Meet: 449-98-88-81 ($1.49/$4.99 ROI through 2/26) GP Champ. Meet POD: 44-11-10-11 ($1.51/$5.58 through 2/26)
