Nadeau: Play of the Day Saratoga Wed 8.6.25
“PLAY of the DAY” by Brian Nadeau | |
Date | 8/6/25 |
Featured track | Saratoga |
Race number | 2 |
Race overview | A meek N1X for NYBs at 1 1/8 miles on the main track. |
Pace | There are some pace players, though in a six-horse field, expect a compact group that will sprint off the far turn. |
Trends | The main track, in an odd and surprising twist, played strongly to outside stalker/closers Saturday and Sunday, so it’s worth monitoring after the two-day break. |
Best Play | #5 SUMMER WHIRL (3-1): Son of Travers winner Arrogate has never run on the main, but he’s bred to love it, and horses often improve in a big way when trying a new surface, meets no one to be scared of, just-missed in a turf route, and has an outside closing style that fit the track profile (see above) this past weekend. |
Bet Types | Aggressive WP bet, and single in the early Pk5, and to kick off the early Pk4 as well. |
Play of the Day Winners | Sar Meet: 193-56-39-31 ($2.00/$5.70 ROI through 8/3)
Sar POD: 17-3-2-0 ($0.99/$2.57)
