Capital District Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation is a public benefit corporation formed in 1975. Its predecessor was the City of Schenectady organized in 1972. Capital OTB provides legalized wagering on horse racing and lottery products with all profits distributed to local governments and the racing industry. Over a span of 30-plus years the corporation has flourished expanding to 42 branches and more than 30 EZ Bet locations throughout New York State from the Canadian border, to the Catskills, east to the Massachusetts and Vermont borders and west to Madison and Cortland counties.
Capital OTB owns and operates its own horseracing television station and also offers patrons the ability to view live racing, morning programming and race replays over the Internet through their Capital Bets Account at www.capitalotb.com. This means that patrons have the ability to handicap and wager from the comforts of home – via the Internet, or telephone – all day, every day. OTBTV (Channel 12 in the Capital Region) broadcasts the best racing from across the country, allowing the public to watch and wager, the next best thing to actually being at the racetrack!
Capital District OTB added ambiance and atmosphere to the “OTB Parlor” by creating the Clubhouse Race Book at 711 Central Avenue, Albany, New York. The Clubhouse Race Book is a one-of-a-kind flagship facility featuring fine dining, horse racing, simulcasting and sports. The facility itself has over 240 flat-screen TV’s that show live racing and sports events all day, 35 self-service terminals and 140 individual carrel’s. Patrons also receive track payouts at the Clubhouse Race Book.
Enhanced Branches and Sports Bars have been added state-wide to offer combined entertainment for both sports and horse racing enthusiasts! With amenities ranging from; restaurant and lounge facilities, to NYS lottery terminals, games and unlimited sporting event coverage, these facilities have provided horseracing and sports fans with added features to make their experience more enjoyable.
The Capital Off-Track Betting Television Network – OTBTV 12, displays horse racing information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with Internet streaming of great programming! OTBTV service is supplied to cable TV outlets and branch offices throughout the Capital OTB Region. Capital OTBTV features LIVE in-home simulcasting from the New York Racing Association and Finger Lakes Racetracks. LIVE race calls and video replays are featured from race tracks all over the country including Del Mar, Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park, Keeneland, and much more!
