What Is Capital OTB?
Capital District Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation is a public benefit corporation formed in 1975. Its predecessor was the City of Schenectady organized in 1972. The corporation has given back more than $750 million to participating Counties since inception.
Capital OTB provides legalized wagering on horse racing and lottery products with all profits distributed to local governments and the racing industry. Over a span of 30-plus years the corporation has flourished expanding to 43 branches and more than 30 EZ Bet locations throughout New York State from the Canadian border, to the Catskills, east to the Massachusetts and Vermont borders and west to Madison and Cortland counties.
Capital OTB owns and operates its own horseracing television station that allows patrons to wager -- through Capital`s state-of-the-art account wagering system -- from the comforts of home through the internet, or your telephone. OTB TV (Channel 12 in the Capital Region) broadcasts the best racing from across the country, allowing the public to watch and wager, the next best thing to actually being at the racetrack!
Capital District OTB added ambiance and atmosphere to the "OTB parlor" by creating the OTB Tele-Plex Racing Center in Albany, New York. The Tele-Plex includes the Tele-Theater Clubhouse, a one-of-a-kind flagship facility featuring fine dining, a theater-sized screen, a multitude of large screens and hundreds of televisions. Patrons receive track payouts at the Tele-Theater. The Tele-Theater Clubhouse has become a unique entertainment experience by combining fine dining, LIVE simulcast horse racing along with some of the most spectacular sporting events via satellite.
Enhanced Branches and Sports Bars have been added state-wide to offer combined entertainment for both sports and horse racing enthusiasts! With amenities ranging from; restaurant and lounge facilities, to NYS lottery terminals, games and unlimited sporting event coverage, these facilities have provided horseracing and sports fans with added features to make their experience more enjoyable.
The Capital Off-Track Betting Television Network - OTBTV 12, displays horse racing information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with internet streaming of great programming! OTB TV service is supplied to cable TV outlets and branch offices throughout the Capital OTB Region. Capital OTB TV features LIVE in-home simulcasting from the New York Racing Association and Fingerlakes Racetracks. LIVE race calls and video replays are featured from race tracks all over the country including Del Mar, Churchhill Downs , Gulfstream Park , Keeneland, and much more!
